In the interest of full disclosure

We had to get up in the middle of the night to make our morning flight today.  See, the flight was at 7, which meant we needed to be at the airport at 5.  And my grandma and aunts live in Beaumont which is about an hour and a half drive (no traffic) from LAX.  So we had to get up at 3, load the car and leave by 3:30 am.  Fortunately, even in LA you can count on very little traffic at 3:30 in the morning.

Anyway, we got to the airport at 5, and when we went to check in I opted to check the car seat since I had no worries about getting it back at the Grand Junction airport.  For those of you unfamiliar with the Grand Junction airport, it's small.  Like, our mall is bigger (and our mall isn't big.)  Even if you're the last one off the plane you can make it to the baggage claim before the baggage does.  And you guys?  The lady checking us in offered to check both our bags for free!  She took pity on us hauling around two small kids.  We definitely took her up on that offer and it made going through security and getting to our gate and on our flight SO MUCH EASIER.

So now you know.  Not everyone at Allegiant sucks.
