How I really look

For all you skeptics (dad) who don't believe me when I say that I really don't look as gigantic as that picture of me at 29 weeks, here is a side by side of that one and one from 2 days ago of me at 32 weeks.

Just ignore the lack of make-up. It was Monday, what do you want? So anyway, doctor's appointment yesterday indicated once again that everything is good. Which, of course, is what I like to hear:) On the downside, my recent introduction to round ligament pain has definitely pushed me into the uncomfortable realm of pregnancy. Don't get me wrong, I'm fine as long as I get into a comfortable position and then don't move. Or laugh too hard. Or cough. So....yeah. I knew that post about this pregnancy being easy would get me in trouble:)

In other news, um, well... Oh who am I kidding, besides being pregnant the most exciting thing going on in my life is organizing our DVD collection. So if you want to hear more about that just let me know. Otherwise, that's all for now.

Dogs

Some people are dog people. It turns out I am one of them. I wish we had room for another one. Come on, how can you resist this face?

Baby Factory

Last night I went to a baby shower. This is the 6th baby shower I've been to since moving to Midland. Now, 6 baby showers over two years doesn't seem like that many, but for various reasons I've also missed 7 or 8 others. This is just for people I know from church. So over the last two years there have been at least 12 babies born into the ward. After the first several were born I kept thinking it would slow down soon enough, but it just doesn't stop! In fact, I am one of 7-- that's right SEVEN-- women in the ward who are currently pregnant. This means for at least three years in a row our ward will average a new baby every other month. I don't really have a point here except to say-- doesn't that seem like a LOT of babies for one ward? It's not like we go to a student ward where it's a bunch of newly-wed couples having their first. Actually, I'm the only one of the 7 having my first. I am really starting to wonder how long this will keep up. Until then I guess I'll just have to speculate about who will be next:)

Tagged

Since I fall into the category of people who have ever had the last name Gustavson, I suppose that means I've been tagged. Here goes.

~2 names you go by: I'm with April on this one, there aren't really any nicknames for Elsha, so...just Elsha.

~2 things you are wearing right now: Abercrombie pajama pants and a long sleeved t-shirt

~2 of your favorite things to do: Read, and these days sleep!

~2 things you want very badly at the moment: Chocolate milk and to have tomorrow off work.

~2 favorite pets you have ever had: The two we have now! Brenna and Onyx.

~2 last things you ate: Cheese ravioli and one of those little chocolate mints-- we had dinner at Olive Garden.

~2 people you last talked to: Brian and the missionaries when they stopped by earlier.

~2 things you are doing tomorrow: Going to work and going to a baby shower.

~2 longest car rides: The Christmas trip from Grand Junction to Mexico and from Midland to Grand Junction.

I would tag people, but I'm pretty sure everyone who reads this blog has already been tagged:)

Pregnancy Update

For all my readers (all 2 of you) who have been holding your breath waiting to hear an update of how this pregnancy is going, here it is. According to my 30 week appointment yesterday, everything is good. Weight gain looks good; measurements look good; fetal heart rate is good; movement is good; blood pressure is good, and so on and so forth. Now, I'm probably going to jinx myself by saying this, but this has been any easy pregnancy. This is probably why it catches me off guard whenever people ask how I am feeeeling. They always look so ready to hear some story about how terrible everything is because I'm pregnant. It makes me wonder if I'm disappointing them when I say that I feel good. Would they rather hear me whine about heartburn or complain that I still can't stand the thought of eating chicken? I just don't get it; I'm pregnant, not sick. Of course, now I'm going to develop some horrible condition and end up on bed rest for the next 10 weeks. I'll let you know how that turns out.
