Baby Factory

Last night I went to a baby shower. This is the 6th baby shower I've been to since moving to Midland. Now, 6 baby showers over two years doesn't seem like that many, but for various reasons I've also missed 7 or 8 others. This is just for people I know from church. So over the last two years there have been at least 12 babies born into the ward. After the first several were born I kept thinking it would slow down soon enough, but it just doesn't stop! In fact, I am one of 7-- that's right SEVEN-- women in the ward who are currently pregnant. This means for at least three years in a row our ward will average a new baby every other month. I don't really have a point here except to say-- doesn't that seem like a LOT of babies for one ward? It's not like we go to a student ward where it's a bunch of newly-wed couples having their first. Actually, I'm the only one of the 7 having my first. I am really starting to wonder how long this will keep up. Until then I guess I'll just have to speculate about who will be next:)

  1. 7 seems so little to me! ha ha. but really, the summer I had the twins, there were 40, yes -40- other births within 2 months of the twins...and that was only those 2 months. Can you imagine how irritated Nathan was that I spent the entire year attending baby showers every thursday night? And we were no where NEAR a student ward! They keep popping them too! There are a few that have had 2 since I had the twins! YIKES!
