I'm finally going to write about Hawaii! Probably not about the whole vacation in one post though. And I'm going to subject you all to like a hundred million pictures so consider yourself warned. We left from Houston on Thursday morning and got in to Honolulu Thursday afternoon (the benefit of a 5 hour time change.) Kalena traveled really well, she was a little fussy, but didn't really cry until we were driving in rush hour traffic in Honolulu. She was fine after we fed her though. We didn't really do anything except get settled on Thursday evening. We stayed in condos at Turtle Bay. I was a slacker and didn't take any pictures of our condo, fortunately Kari did. Although, there are no pictures of the room Brian and I stayed in because by the time she got around to pictures we'd already made a big mess of that room.

The kitchen in our condo. Our whole condo was newly remodeled by the way.

Living room. I wanted to bring that rug home with me, but I couldn't figure out how to get it in my suitcase.

Downstairs bedroom where Kirsta and Joe stayed.

Downstairs bathroom. The upstairs bathroom was pretty much the same only bigger.

Looking into the loft from the upstairs bedroom (where Brian and I had already strewn our stuff about by the time Kari took pictures.)

The beds in the loft. Nobody stayed there until the last couple nights (there was condo moving after several people left) when Kari and Jonathan stayed there. They slept on the same bed. Cause they're newlyweds. Awwww.

We went to bed pretty early because to us it felt 5 hours later. Unfortunately, Kalena doesn't understand time zones yet (even though we tried to explain) so she woke up bright eyed at 3:30 am, ready for the day. It took her pretty much the whole week to adjust.

Sadly, we missed out on the temple because people went Thursday morning before we got there and the rest of the trip was a little (ok, a LOT) over scheduled.

And that was day 1!

  1. Looks like so much fun - random question - how big are Kalena's feet? In inches?

  2. Way cool! I bet it was an awesome trip. You are lucky that Kalena traveled so well. Can't wait to see more of the trip :)
